Our School

Mission Statement: The students and staff of Tantramar Regional High School value active learning in a caring, responsible, respectful atmosphere, fostering a climate for
individual growth and development reflective of our high expectations.

 

Facilities

Tantramar was built in 1972 on sixty-eight acres of land. It has undergone some renovation in the past three decades including the development and remodeling of:

  • Broad-based technology lab (1996)
  • Tantramar Wetlands Centre (1997) This included:
    • 15 ha of newly restored freshwater wetland.
    • 3000 m2 of indoor laboratory space and a fully wired teaching theatre.
  • The establishment of the Jolicure Lakes Field Station to further extend TWC’s experiential programming options. (2002)
  • School-based distance learning centre. (2004)

Wetlands  

Tantramar Wetlands Centre

The Tantramar Wetlands Centre is a community-based centre of wetlands education specializing in experiential programming aimed at public school students and teachers. Recognized nationally as a centre of excellence, this award-winning project provides exciting wetlands education experiences to over 4,000 visitors annually. Visit their web site at www.weted.com.

Broad-Based Technology Centre

The BBT centre provides modular project-based learning opportunities to grade 9 and 10 students. Sample modules include:

  • Video Editing
  • Bridge Building
  • Web Page Design

Visual Arts Centre

The creative arts centre provides experiential opportunities for students to explore self-expression and communication through various media and forms.

Digital Media Arts Centre

The digital arts centre provides project-based opportunities for students to explore digital media communication and production.

Culinary Technology Centre

The culinary technology centre challenges students to plan and prepare food services to small and medium sized groups.


Alternate  

Alternative Education Centre

The alternative education centre provides a setting for students and facilitators to collaborate on flexible learning paths to achieve the goals of a secondary education.

Musical Arts Centre

The musical arts centre provides a setting for a variety of musical explorations, whether it be through the use of voice, instruments, song, dance, as well as music interpretation.
